The Laziest Witch

Lazy Off-Duty Witch

Lazy Off-Duty Witch

There is really no excuse for it but what can I do.  At Halloween I think I am supposed to go round doing witchy things but I don't know what things witches do, and I hate those outfits with the pointy hats, so I am just going to hang around here in my comfortable Sn@tch autfit (new items out this week btw) and have a snooze - thankfully Kuro in Motion created the perfect props including soft plump pillows which are really comfortable to ...................................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

More Horrorfest

I'd rather wear jewels in my hair than anywhere else. The face should have the advantage of this brilliance" - Hedy Lamarr

Horrorfest4

Today's post is another featuring goodies from Horrorfest.  I love the Keystone "witchy jewels" which adorn my forehead, and come with a texture change hud.  The dress from LouLou fits really well and comes in both the skully version shown here, and a blood spattered one.  And the final Horrorfest item is the pendant - there are many to choose from but I of course have gone for the batty one.

My hair is one of the gifts from Alice Project for their "Halloween Massacre" series - they are giving a free hairstyle every day until October 31st, each of which come in 5 blood spattered colours. In addition, on 3 days there are styles limited to VIP group members.

I'd like a dash of colour with my autumn please

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Autumn

I went along to the Boho Culture Fair today, but didn't have much spending money (having spent my clothing allowance on gorgeous shoes - shown below!) so just picked up this hair from MINA, and some dollarbies and Freebies.  The hair has texture change huds for both the hair and the headband.

Autumn

My dress is new from Shey and gives you 10 different texture choices via hud - below I have shown you all except one, which is a bright yellow with dotty hemline.

Autumn

The shoes are a SLink add-on from KoiKoi - a "new to me" creator - and are absolutely gorgeous. Featuring rich deep colours and excellent texturing, they also come with a hud, so if you buy the fatpack as I did (of course!) you can change the shoe, heel and trim to any combination you fancy from this colour palette.

Autumn

The poses from Eternal Dream are currently on sale at the Falling Leaves Cart Sale  there are two packs, one for 50L and one for 100L

Introducing AmyLee, bats, skulls and crystals

For as the eyes of bats are to the blaze of day, so is the reason in our soul to the things which are by nature most evident of all" - Aristotle

Batty

Today I have some more Horrorfest goodies to share, some Acid Lily, and generally lots of lovely new scrumptiousness.
.
Batty

What I particularly like about this ensemble is that from a distance it looks like an elegant outfit for a gentile night on the town. It is only when you get a bit closer that you start to notice that things are not quite what they seemed at first.

The gown is new at Sn@tch, and as always, well made and fabulous value.  You get 8 colours in the pack, after you have demo'd it and decided what size you want.  Best of all, it is covered in bats!    I love bats, so  finding this gown caused a big smile to spread across my little pixel face.

Batty

The jewelry set I am wearing is from Horrorfest and is a real "statement piece" from a new-to-me designer, AZE.  I love that when you look a bit closer you see the detailing which makes this set very different.  The bracelet set (2 bracelets) is priced at L$200, with 100% of that going to the Horrorfest charity,The Epilepsy Therapy Project.  The earrings are $150 and the necklace $L250.

The ring is from the current round of Acid Lily, and is available in gold, copper, black onyx and silver.  I tried to get as close as possible to show the fantastic design, it is called "Crystalline" and lives up to the name, with it's fabulous quartz-like design.  The packs include versions for both standard hands and SLinks, which I am wearing here. You also get both single and linked rings, which I am showing, and they have been fitted for middle and ring fingers.   The designer has certainly thought of everything.

And finally, the skin I am wearing is a new release from WOW.  I have no idea why it has taken me so long to try WOW skins.  As soon as I tried AmyLee on I felt very comfortable, which is unusual for me as I have really struggled with finding new skins that feel "right" on me. This skin manages to be fresh faced and pretty, yet not too young looking. The pack includes 5 make-ups including bare, a shape (though I am wearing my own here), and two tattoos - freckles and more freckles.

This lovely hair is one of CaTwA s recent releases.  I am very impressed with the amount of options you get with their new hud system - you get both solid colours and ombre and both with enough options to keep a texture change hud lover like me happy for days. Really good value, and no clogging of the inventory, always a plus point for me.

Today I am teaming separates from two of my favourite shops with a lovely necklace from a new-to-me shop.

ZsaZsa or Medusa?

HorrorFest2 (6)

Today's post comes almost entirely from Horrorfest.   My headpiece is one of many stunning headpieces from GSpot.  From a distance it looks really pretty, but when you come closer you see all the snakes wrapping around it -  in my view, the snakes make it no less pretty, and definitely add character :).

HorrorFest2 (4)

The dress is by SAKIDE, and comes in black and this wine colour - you also get a collar, which I have not shown here, and two versions of the dress - the second does not have the lower skirt so becomes a mini dress.  The texturing is beautifully done, making the fabric look very rich.

My pumps are from The Little Bat for Horrorfest.  The final Horrorfest goodie is the grave, complete with bats flying overhead - I am a bit jealous, I LOVE bats, and would prefer them to be flying round my rl head :).

HorrorFest2 (2)

My skin is a new group gift from Glam Affair which was released with perfect timing when I was struggling to find a skin for this shoot.  I rarely wear even remotely pale skins, but I have enjoyed wearing something different for my Horrorfest posts.

HorrorFest2 (5)

As I have no appliers for this skin, I couldn't wear my SLink hands (hence no close ups) but thanks to Gidge on Plurk I found out about the SLink mesh nails which you can use with appliers, so that is what I have used, this time with the pointed nail option.

Arachnophobics open if you dare...............

If I see a spider in my house, I put it in a cup, and then I take it outside. I save it. What is wrong with me?” Jacqueline Emerson” (my answer being "absolutely nothing")

Arachnophobia?

Arachnophobia?

Arachnophobia?

Arachnophobia?

Weird as it may sound, one of the things on my bucketlist is to have a tarantula crawl up my arm - I kid you not.  But then again, I am the weirdo who goes mad if someone squashes a spider, and have been called "spider lady" by people I work with who come to me to - in their words "get rid of a spider", in my words "rescue a spider".

So as soon as I saw this outfit I couldn't wait to blog it.  Immateria is a new-to-me designer and I am really impressed with this outfit - as well as being covered in gorgeous tarantulas, it is also well made and fits perfectly.  The boots come in both rigged and non-rigged options.  The ring is from TLB at the Horrorfest too, and comes in various scary designs, which I will probably share very soon.

The outfit will be available at the Horrorfest which opens at 11.59 am tomorrow (the 18th). Not only is there loads of great stuff on offer at this event, they are also raising funds for a very worthy cause,The Epilepsy Therapy Project, and you can track donations live by clicking here, or to learn more about epilepsy, click here.

My special guest in the final photo is from the GSpot gacha at Horrorfest - there are large spiders in different colours, and also some you can wear on your head - which I did for a while when I was setting this shoot up, until even I decided it was spider overkill.  Take my word for it though, they are cute :).  The bigger spiders, like this one, come with various cute pose animations.

Arabian Nights

Hudson's have just released a new set of beautifully made (as always) silks, Arabian Nights, which comes in a choice of 4 colours - ebony, red wine, evening blue, and the grape I am wearing here.  It also comes with a headscarf which I am not wearing.

Gorgeously flowing flexi items like these silks are the only reason that in my predominantly mesh "closet", there is still a small corner for non-mesh.  I may wear them rarely these days, but they still have their place.

Google Meme

Profile

I haven't done the last few memes for some reason, so here is my attempt at today's:

Meme instructions: Google your SL name and answer the following questions. Don’t forget to leave a comment with a link to your post so we can all drop by, read and be nosy. Optional: click over to Emily’s blog and do her Google challenge as well. Don’t forget to leave a comment in her post if you end up doing it, so she can come stalk you guys too!

  1. Google your Second Life name in “quotations” and share your results. 11,100.
  2. What is the first link that comes up? My Google+ account which is surprising as I rarely use because I haven’t taken the time to work out what to do with it.
  3. Which link were you surprised to see? Nothing really, it was pretty much just links to blog posts – but what I did find funny was that I didn’t recognise the names of some posts and had to check them – and I have only been blogging 4 ½ months!
  4. Click on the “Image” tab and tell us where the first 5 pictures listed are from.   The first was from Melroos Place, which surprised me, but on checking I realized I had commented on her post about Inventory Management (one of my obsessions!), then there 3 were from SLUniverse which is no big surprise, as I am on their feed, but one is from Picasa, and I have no idea how or why.
  5. Click on the “more” tab and then click “news” and share your results. Nothing, I am a boring little ZsaZsa J.
And here are my answers to Emily’s questions: Click over to her Google challenge and answer her questions. Her instructions were to Google ourselves under both our real life name and our second life name and share what comes up. Here are my answers:

  1. How did the two digital footprints compare, and did that surprise you? There are slightly less for my real name, but none for the real me, it appears that my name is quite common and there are loads of “me's” around the world who are far more interesting than I am J.
  2. Does anyone interesting share your name? Nope!
  3. Are you happy with the size of your digital footprint, or do you wish either one was larger/smaller? I am surprised at how big ZsaZsa’s is but am not quite sure why, as she does so much on the internet it makes sense that she has a footprint.  I guess I am surprised how small my real life one is but I am really happy with that.
  4. If you woke up/ logged in one morning to discover over night you had suddenly gained rock-star status, and everybody knew who you were and wanted to know what you were doing… what would you do? I would run away and live in a cave until everyone forgot about me - I would hate it, I like being little anonymous me J
Don;t forget to leave a comment on Berry's blog if you do the meme.

Today I am wearing a gorgeous dress from ISON at Collabor88. The lace detailing on the bodice is really beautifully done, and although I was a little worried about possible alpha issues with the slit, there are none, because it is so well made.  I am wearing the tan version - tan is not a colour I am usually drawn to whereas I really love the shade of this dress - I actually see it as more of a subtle gold, hence the quote for today from the lovely Mika.

I love a messy updo, and this one from Truth, with its subtle plait detailing and gracefully cascading tendrils, is my kind of "do" and I am sure it will appear in many future posts.

Finally, the gorgeous new Amelia sandals from GOS which are already up there for me with the Lauren D'Orsay, as my favourite GOS shoes ever.

I discovered Sn@tch quite late, but am a real fan of their clothing now.  I also like their unusual way of vending - you try the demo, and buy the item in the mesh size that fits you - so you only get that one mesh size, but in a variety of colours. For example, in the pack for this particular outfit, you get the whole outfit in gold, black, blue, aqua, peach, pink, green and the purple I am wearing here - but you just get the mesh skirt in the mesh size you choose.  Amazing value for L$275, particularly as with a lot of designers you wouldn't even get one colour for that many lindens.  You just have to make sure you lay off the pixel cupcakes so you don't  burst out of your chosen size :).

A whole heap of shoes (but not as many as Imelda)

“I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty”
Imelda Marcos

Here I am showing all the shoes in the gorgeous new Hopscotch release, Saretha, an add-on for SLink medium bare feet.  Saretha is very dainty, almost minimalist, but all the prettier for that.  There are some lovely touches such as the glittery strap and buckle, and the coloured sole - and that you get 4 colour options for each pair of shoes makes it even better.

I have shown all four options for the black pack, but just one white and one black option for all the other colours.
