I am showing here one of the gorgeous gifts from Belleza this Christmas, and a new outfit from Ducknipple SLX.  Not very Christmassy I know, but much as I love snow and Christmas, when i saw this outfit it felt good to take a break from the cold. It helps that I love the outfit too, both the colours and the texturing, and I know I will wear these again and again.

The outfit comes with two huds, one for the skirt and one for the top, and obviously you can wear them in whatever combination you wish, I have just shown these combinations to show you all the colours available in the tops and skirts.

Here are close-ups of the bangle and necklace which come with the outfit - if you are wondering why you can't see the necklace in any other shot, it is because I had just finished uploading my pics to flickr when I realised that I was wearing a necklace, but it was positioned inside my avvie, arrrrrgghhh,  

So instead of re-shooting everything, I have just done a quick shot of it to show you the necklace.  

Because of the many boobs I have made while learning to blog, I created a checklist full of stuff like "check there are no trees going out of your head, that your skirt isn't eating your hand, your eyes aren't crossed, your alpha isn't showing" etc etc - well now I need to add "make sure if you are wearing jewellery that it is outside, not inside, your body!"

Gothic Governess meets Vamp with the eyes of a Lion

This has been one of those posts which take forever, and I almost gave up on it but hate to be beaten.  This was my third shoot - first two times I thought I had got it right, but when I went to upload the photos to flickr, I wasn't happy with them.  I made a few more changes and finally it all fell into place.

The  Belleza Christmas gift is fabulous, 3 different skins for the girls, and 3 for the boys - this is the only time I have seriously considered creating a MAlt, it seems a shame to let them go to waste!  The girls are Ashley, Nina and Mya, each in 4 tones.   if you aren't in their group, this gift alone is well worth the $250L fee.   Belleza is one of the rare groups I have never left, and never will.

I love the new Spectral mesh eye range from IKON, and am wearing the December group gift - I rarely wear this kind of colour but I really like these.  The fabulously gothic corset dress from Adoness can be worn without the lace top, cuffs and collar.  For some reason when I first tried it on I thought "governess" but I have no clue why, it really isn't remotely governess-ish, but the curves created by the corset are definitely vampish, it really is beautifully gothic and the textures are wonderfully done, very rich and opulent.

This outfit I am wearing today is a short time promo from Ducknipple SLX, at just $100L which is incredible value as this is what it gets you:

What I particularly love is the attention to detail, such as the little red tab on the sweater, and particularly the skull detailing on the sweater which is mirrored on the boots - and I must admit that although I love this whole outfit, the boots I have completely fallen in love with.

Dancing the Eyelash Spectacular

Something I really enjoy about blogging is finding a small item, particularly something really unusual like these fabulous eyelashes from Finesmith, and building a blog post around it - sometimes it takes a lot of thinking, experimenting, trying things on, and sometimes it all just falls together. 

In this case as soon as I tried the eyelashes on I knew I wanted to go down the pale, ethereal, fantasy path, and remembered that I had a Christmas Angel dress from Angelwing in my inventory.  Flexi they may be, but Angelwing's creations are still beautiful, and hard to beat for movement.

The eyelashes come with lots of different options, all of them spectacular, so you can play with them till you get the look you are after

Entanglement

ZsaZsa decided it was time to put up her tree, so wearing a festive outfit and with the Beach Boys Christmas Album blaring out (thankfully she has no neighbours to complain) she started gathering her decorations.



The cats made themselves comfy on the tree skirt, which was quite brave considering ZsaZsa was about to climb a ladder.  She wrapped various garlands and sets of lights round her neck and started climbing.



She leaned as far as she could to place the decorations.

Hmmm, this ladder really doesn't go far enough, ZsaZsa thinks as she sings along to "Little Saint Nick" and decides she will have to stand up and....................................whoops

Whoops indeed!  Well the tree might not look very decorated yet, but ZsaZsa looked on the bright side and decided to drop some of the decorations (which the cats had fun with) and pose for this year's Christmas card!

I always look for quotations that have some kind of link (however tenuous) to something in the blog post - this time the first quote I saw was actually one I have loved for many years so was very happy to add this to my post.

Strolling under my Umbrella

By an act of wonderful serendipity this dress and pose/prop were among different boxes I opened this morning, and I was a happy little blogger when I realised how well they would work together :).

The lovely dress is from DandelionWine and comes in a selection of beautifully textured fabrics, all shown above, and changeable via hud.  I love how muted and understated the fabrics are, and with the slight train at the back, it has a very ladlylike and feminine appeal.

The pose and umbrella are a special from *~*Hopscotch*~* for Genre which runs from 15 Dec to 12 January, with a theme of Victoriana.  *~*Hopscotch*~* has a number of items at this round of Genre, but the prop/pose shown here costs just 10L  I think it works perfectly with this dress, transporting me back to a time less complicated and more innocent.

What does ZsaZsa get up to when she thinks I am not around?

Ever wondered if your avvie has a life when you aren't around?  Nope?  Oh well, I had, so I crept up on ZsaZsa to find her in her new Christmas pj's belting out songs from Grease.  She is always complaining that I prefer dressing her as a rock chick, and now and again she wants to do cute (unlike me) so I guess she got fed up of waiting and did it herself!

Her pj's are one of the gifts in the advent calendar at Jazzitude.  Included are leggings, tank and thong, a mesh t-shirt, a little candycane to suck (ZsaZsa understandably can't sing and suck a candy cane at the same time) and a stocking with a teddy in (I found him in a corner covering his ears).  

The gifts are free, and Jazzy will leave the calendar out a bit longer than the 24th, so if you have missed any days you can pick them up afterwards - but you can only pick up one gift a day. Some gifts are full outfits including shoes, so they really are worth picking up.  These pj's are behind #5 and there is a set for guys under #1 so you and your man can prance about in matching sets - how romantic!

Today's post is a blend of old, new and somewhere in between.  The sculpted jacket from Lapointe & Bastchild is the "old" but is proof that there is still life in some well made pre-mesh stuff.

I love this cozy mini from Firebird Designs for Feebs Rascals which comes with 4 different with/without belt and with/without cowl options, as shown in the collage.  The boots come with the outfit and the whole thing fits like a dream.

My skin is the current group gift from WOW Skins.  The group costs $300 to join, but as well as the current gift, you can pick up the group gifts for the last year.  There is also a wall of group only lucky boards and MM's, all of which give quality gifts.

I love a happy headband!

I love these Christmas light headbands from FBD, so decided to show you them all - they are from a gacha at the FBD store - 40L each play (mod/trans) or you can buy the fatpack for 299L (copy/mod) - which I think is a great idea, I wish more places gave that option.  I have given a link to the store in the credits below, or you can buy the fatpacks on marketplace here

There are two sets of headbands, one with just the lights, and another with the lights plus antlers - I wanted to show you them all but Zsa wanted to go and listen to some blues and rebelled, showing how she felt in the photo above.

She had a point as I have spent ages on this small post, redoing the shoot 3 times (and that included changing the colour of the earrings 3 times too - I love texture change stuff but sometimes I do create more work for myself!).  So after that and playing with effects, we were both pretty cross-eyed, so I gave in, so there is just one antler shot, and Zsa got to listen to the blues.

These headbands are really cute, Zsa will probably wear some of these all over the holiday season - but don't tell her that or she might fear another long shoot and end up cross-eyed again!

A very pretty harvest

You know that great feeling when you try on an outfit and it is just perfect in every way?  That is how I felt about this new set from Sakide the moment I tried it on.  .  It fit perfectly with no tweaking - I like off shoulder tops but rarely find one that works, they are either too small or too big and no amount of tweaking will make the mesh/alpha/avvie combination work.  Not so with this set, it fits like a dream, even when dancing (the real test for me when wearing mesh).

It is available at Perfect Wardrobe until 13 December.  Colours choices are black, blue, pink, rose, wine, red, cream and white, all of which I have shown above.  Each colour pack comes with three tops - plain, snowflake and leafy.  The pants are not a style I would normally wear, but I absolutely love these and am sure they will be worn again and again.  Not only do they fit incredibly well, the textures are just perfect.

The Hourglass

Today I am wearing a stunning gown from another 'new to me' designer, Phwoar Couture.  The gown comes in a multitude of gorgeous colours but I felt like being silvery - though this colour is actually labelled grey, I think it is far more interesting than the usual drab grey.  I love the lacy cut outs, the extremely daring back view, and particularly the hourglass shape.  I teamed the gown with one of my favourite Truth hairstyles which I find quite evocative of the glamour of movies from the forties.

My eyes are the brand new mesh eyes from Ikon which have made their debut at the new round of FaMESHed.  They come with excellent easy to understand instructions, and a very user friendly HUD which allows you to resize the eyes, change the texture of the iris and sclera (impressed how I slipped in those technical words in, huh?) as well as posing and changing the eye direction.  Just one thing, don't get scared when you put on the fitting guide system eyes, it really isn't a good look!.
