#238 Rhapsody in the key of Punk

I had such fun creating this post using some goodies from the fabulous Rhapsody event which is on now  If you love music as much as I do, you really don't want to miss this event.  There is a genre for every taste - even disco (shudders slightly) - but unless I have a personality change overnight there ain't gonna be no disco on this blog!

I have really loved the last few releases from MINA, but this is by far my favourite.  I have a weakness for punky spiky and shaved hair in sl, and I had a look round Rhapsody for something to wear with the hair and found this great skirt and suspender (braces to us Brits) set from Cracked Mirror, and a torn top to go with it.  Both come in standard sizing plus fitted mesh, and you have an array of colours to choose from.  My jewellery and jacket are old faithfuls from my inventory, and my boots are fairly new from Ducknipple and come with a texture change hud for the socks.

There will be more posts to follow from Rhapsody, I can't remember when I last got so excited about an event.  I love that there is a bit of everything - clothing, body, poses, home and garden, but all within the music theme of the particular genre.

#237 "I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow"

I am dedicating this post to someone who will probably never read it as she has left SL.  When I was looking for quotes for the title, so many of them reminded me of her as she possesses much of Scarlett O'Hara's fire and drama, as well as her beauty.  Life as her sister was certainly never boring.  Nita/Chrissie, this one's for you.  I miss you and hope life brings you only good things.

The latest round of The Seraphim Social has a Gone with the Wind theme, which brought out a bit of the dramatic diva in me, and made me reach for some filmish frames to set the scene.  I am not a big hat person but I think the hat that comes with this lovely outfit from Sakide really helps set the mood.

The jewellery set from Cae is also to be found at The Seraphim Social, along with my manicure and pedicure, from ZOZ.  

My shoes were just 50L in the gacha at Sax Shepherd Designs, and come with a hud allowing you to customise the jewel colours.  This design is still one of my favourite ever shoes for SLink high feet, they are so elegant.  Sax is an artist in real life, and it really shows in his gorgeous creations in second life.

#236 One day left for Lapointe & Bastchild Fashion for Life exclusives

This will be my last Fashion for Life post as it closes tomorrow, the 20th.  I just had to show you these truly fabulous capris from Lapointe & Bastchild - I have been on a quest to find capris that I like for about two years, and here, I finally found them - thank you L & B! 

There are two exclusive editions - the candy version (with 8 texture choices) I am wearing here, and a denim version (which has 6 texture choices).  Neither will be sold again after FFL. so if you are a huge Lapointe & Bastchild fan like me, waste no time, run and get yours before they are gone forever!

I absolutely love this top from FireBird Designs for the Thrift Shop.  It comes with a texture change hud with a great selection of textures (16) and I am actually wearing the fitted mesh version - only the second time I have been able to wear fitted mesh without it looking very odd on me. So yay!

My sandals and jewellery are both from the lovely Maxi Gossamer, who continues to put out some of the prettiest jewellery and sandals in sl.  The jewellery can be found at the current round of Collabor88.

#235 Lilies for Fashion for Life

This is a quick post to show you this absolutely beautiful gown that Sage have released for Fashion for Life.  It is available in the white I am wearing here, and in pink - the top and skirt are separates so you can mix and match with other items.  The floral textures are beautifully done and it really is a deliciously feminine and fresh outfit that I absolutely love.

You still have until the 20th to go and explore Fashion for Life and buy some goodies for yourself while helping out a fantastic cause in the process.

#234 Adrift at Fashion for Life

Here I am in another outfit almost completely from Fashion for Life.  The dress is from Even Flow and I am wearing the fatpack which comes with a hud allowing you to switch the top, skirt and belt textures, so I have shown you a selection of looks you can achieve.  You get materials and non materials versions, and fitted mesh as well as the usual 5 standard sizes.  My bag is from the Redux gacha, also at Fashion for Life.

#233 The Dreaming Tree and more Fashion for Life

I felt like a complete change today so not only have I managed to wear a skin other than Belleza, I have also become a blue eyed blonde.  This is a first!

I am showing 3 of 5 poses from a pack by Infiniti for the Dreaming Tree event - the pack is available for 50L but only this weekend.  

My outfit is another new one from Liv-Glam [LG] Boutique and feels really fresh and summery. It comes with the three textures I am showing, changeable via hud.  As always, it is textured to perfection and has that unique [LG] Boutique feel to it.  It is also fantastic value at just 99L.

My hair is from MINA for Fashion for Life, but looks very different to how I wore it as a redhead in a previous post - it was actually this hair that made me try blonde, because I love the hair so much that I wanted to experiment a bit.  

My nails are a new group gift from Hello Dave.  If you aren't a member, you really should be as the lovely Maia Gasparini is extremely generous with her VIPs.

#232 More Fashion for Life goodies

My second big bundle of Fashion for Life goodies includes dress, shoes, earrings, pose/prop and manicure/pedicure from the event.

The dress from Mon Cheri is so pretty - it has a really relaxed hankie style hemline and the sleeves and dress are separate, so you can wear it with or without the sleeves - or for that matter the sleeves without the dress if you are so inclined!  It comes with a hud so you can change to any of 12 textures for the dress and sleeves, and 4 for the belt.  

The earrings also come from Mon Cheri, and they are seriously stunning - the level of detail is incredible, you can see each individual bead and even the wiring, and I can't even begin to imagine how much work went into them.  They are available in 8 colours, I am wearing the salmon, but they are all equally beautiful.

My shoes are from Essenz and are available in a fatpack or 6 individual colours.  My pose and prop are from a pack called They Call me the Wanderer by *~*HopScotch*~* and are a limited edition for Fashion for Life, never to be sold again.  It comes with 6 poses and 6 mesh "wander sticks".

There are so many wonderful things to find at Fashion for Life, you really should hop along right away and shop till you drop without guilt, because you know so much of your money is going to a great cause.

#231 Huge Fashion for Life bunch of goodness

Having lost a number of close friends to cancer, and with one of my oldest friends currently battling breast cancer, I was thrilled to be chosen as one of the official bloggers for Fashion for Life.  I love blogging, but blogging for such a wonderful cause really makes it special.

Fashion for Life is SL’s longest-running  and most successful fashion fair. All donations go to SL Relay for Life, benefiting the American Cancer Society. It runs from June 7th - June 20th and covers 10 sims - and having explored quite a bit already, I promise they are worth looking at, as apart from all the shopping, and helping ACS, there are some amazing builds to explore. 

The theme this year is Wanderlust - a reflection of Relay For Life's theme Journey To A Promise. Over the 10 sims, you will find 150 stores, gacha areas and a region wide passport game.

My outfit is pretty much all FLF - gown, shoes, hair, jewellery and nails.  The gown from PurpleMoon is truly stunning, with lovely lavender detailing that is almost oriental in design, and the body of the gown itself almost shimmers, and has a very unusual hemline.  It comes with black gloves but it is impossible to get me out of my SLinks so I left the gloves off.

The hair, new from MINA, is truly gorgeous - tousled and sexy. and I so love the MINA reds. You get both materials and non materials versions in the pack, as well as a bigger boobs option. I am wearing the non materials option here.

The bracelet is part of the Stars!, Lizzie set in black, which also comes with necklace, earrings and ring.  The necklace and earrings are from Bliensen & MaiTai, and come with separate texture change huds with 10 textures for main and accents, and 3 metals

The shoes, which you can only see a little of unfortunately, are from Essenz, are really delicate and pretty.  They are add-ons for SLink high feet, and the limited edition I am wearing is available in a fatpack of 6 colours.  100% of the proceeds from this pack are going to FFL, and it will not be available after the event.

And finally, my nails are also from FFL, and come from -{ZOZ}-, with a choice of 12 pretty iridescent colours.

#230 Ladder of Time

This is quite a small post for me, but I am really busy sorting out posts for Fashion for Life, as I am on their official blogging team.  My nail polish in this post is by Zoz and will be available at FLF when it opens on the 7th.  Watch this space for more from Fashion for Life including info about the event itself. 

This amazing little necklace is from [LNS Designs] for the June round of Candy Factory.  It is original mesh and comes with a hud allowing you to change the colour of the beads.  What I can't show in this photo is that there is sand swirling inside, like a real sand timer!  It is such an intricate and stunning piece, it really does need to be seen for real to be appreciated.

The rest of the photos from this shoot are basically me playing with shadows - my dear old pc does not like this at all, so it really is quite torturous, but now and again I can't help myself, despite ending up wanting to bang my head on my desk each time.  I have fun putting a few different photos from a shoot on flickr and waiting to see what gets most faves.  The only thing I can safely predict is that it will never be the one I expect!  The ladder photo here is the one that won by a whisker - though the gorgeous little necklace beat them all :).
