#503 Newness from Shiny Shabby and The Cosmetic Fair

Today ZeeZee is spending time in her garden wearing the latest group gift from Just Because, a special - and very pretty - Hibiscus version of the Kathie Shirt - I blogged the full release here.    

She is also wearing a new release from DE Designs, the Heather shorts which come in both jeans and leathers. I was fully intending to do a blog post showing you both pairs, but this pose prop set from Q Poses landed in my inbox and as soon as I saw this puppy, all previous plans went out the window!  The set comes with 5 quality poses loaded into the tree stump, plus butterfly and puppy props.  Back to the shorts, they are just perfect and I will hopefully do another post on them sometime soon so I can show more of their gorgeousness. 

I think ZeeZee's face says it all - like her typist, she is a vegetarian animal lover (even when dining out in sl, she chooses the veggie option - seriously), so she has had a great week, with a visit from a unicorn, blogged here, and now she has a new puppy!   Her pretty marbled nails are new from DP Koffin Nails for The Cosmetic Fair.

The pic above shows a little more of ZeeZee's top and shorts, both beautifully made original mesh pieces which fit my Maitreya Lara perfectly, and both of course have gorgeous texturing. 

My skin is new from Atelier Pepe at Collabor88 and comes in a variety of tones.  I have added some lipgloss and eye liner, also from Shiny Shabby.  My hair is also new at Shiny Shabby, from Entwined.  My eyes from Avi Glam are from the Ardent Earth hud and I have gone with a new colour for me, silver, which I think is very pretty.

#500 Our lives begin to end

 the day we become silent about things that matter.

I have been photo-bombed by Spike again!  My t-shirt dress is a new mainstore release from Just Because and as always with Annie Melson, it is absolute perfection in how it fits my Maitreya Lara body.  The creases are so well done as is the neckline and the knotted material on one side. Annie provides a plethora of colours to choose from, or a hud operated fatpack.  Each colour comes with the plain version I am wearing, and the same colour with a slogan on it.  I have never been a slogan type girl so I went with the plain.  The hud also allows you to wear panties at the click of a button, quite useful with a dress this short!   

I am wearing some brand new jewelry from Cae for FaMESHed.  The beautiful Nova set is very versatile, coming with a hud allowing you to wear all three necklaces together as I have done, or just one or two of them.  This is a great idea, making it so easy to fit it to all kinds of necklines  The earrings are really unusual, with graduated stones getting smaller as they climb the ear lobe.  Very pretty.  You can buy the earrings and necklace separately if you wish.  My bracelet is one of the sets also available from Cae for FaMESHed - there are 4 different "themes" - I went with Peace on this occasion, the others are life, love and strength.  You can hide any of the individual bands, and also mix and match with gold.  I have a feeling that these bracelets are going to become a staple of my wardrobe

#482 If music be the food of love

As it is coming up to the 400th anniversary of the Bard's death I thought I would share one of his quotes.  I doubt anyone in SL knows that I am a huge lover of Shakespeare.  Along I guess with the majority of school kids. I loathed him at school, where we were forced to study "the Scottish play", which made no sense whatsoever to me.  Years later, as a mature student of English Literature, I was forced into studying Shakespeare again, very unwillingly.  However a trip to Stratford upon Avon to see the Royal Shakespeare Company perform Othello changed all that.  It was spellbinding, electric, and ever since that moment have been a huge appreciator of all things Shakespeare.

I always get a kick out of a blog post that builds from one item and takes me in a direction I hadn't thought of till I look at it and put my little imagination cap on.  In this instance the starting point was this dress from a new-to-me designer, VIP Creations.  It fits like a glove and gives ZZ curves fitting of a forties torch singer, so that is what she became for this shoot (though I think she forgot the torch part and rocked it up a bit).  A quick search in her mammoth inventory brought up this great pose set from Nantra which includes 6 poses and 6 coordinating microphone props.

The dress comes with a texture change hud and also white pumps which I am not wearing here, opting for a classic pump from KC Couture instead.  A quick mention about the hair I have worn in this and my last post - both are by No Match for Hairology, and come with hairbase appliers which are absolutely fabulous!  EMO-tions have also included a hairbase applier, and I hope more hair sellers do this as it really makes wearing hair with a mesh head much easier.
