#473 Smoke Signals

Were you aware that you are only able to add 38 attachments to your avvie?  You'll never use all of them, right?  I thought so too, till I realised that while I was putting this outfit together, I was using 36 out of 38 - and this doesn't include the huds I use when taking pics (which are listed below the credits).

Onto the outfit - I love love love these new dresses from Doc Eldritch, which are a Maitreya Lara exclusive.  I particularly the ombre style - ombre isnt the right word but my brain is tired and refuses to offer up the right one right now.  I love all the colours available but continue my love affair with purple, not sure what is going on here but the slightest hint of purple has me rummaging through my inventory for more awesome purple-ness.  Anyway, as it was a bit nippy outside I added one of Doc's leather jackets to the outfit so that Zsa would stop shaking long enough for me to take my pics.  This jacket is compatible with all 3 Belleza bodies, Maiteya Lara and Slink Physique, as well as fitmesh.

By the way, Zsa wants me to tell you that she doesn't really smoke, she just borrowed a pixel ciggie for a short time for the taking of these pics.  She doesn't however want me to tell you that she did take a small drag and coughed so much we almost had to abandon the shoot :).

#472 A triptych in the hand is as good as.....

....well, maybe not quite as good as a triptych on a blog

This is a first for me, just one pic, and a triptych at that - I have given myself a challenge - to get a post done, start to finish, in 2 hours.  To many bloggers that might be the norm, but I take a lot longer usually, and I want to "streamline" my blogging so I can show more good stuff.

So, my challenge involved putting the outfits together, choosing poses and location (I cheated and used my new home, on pretty much the only piece of furniture I have down right now!), writing credits and adding links, taking pics, tarting them up in Picmonkey (which means cropping, basically, plus triptyching for this one of course), loading pic to flickr, writing these words, and adding triptych.  Previewing and checking everything.  I have 2 minutes left, help!

Read the next two paragraph very fast without pausing for breath so you are sharing in my adrenalin rush.  So, get down to the 10 Fashion for Life sims - you have till the 20th to buy lots of goodies for a fantastic cause.  I have shown you three items from The Vintage Touch because I love them all and couldn't choose just one - there are lots of colours to choose from, I just went with blues because.....well, I just went with blues.  Oh, my nails are also from Fashion for Life and are lovely, though unfortunately you can't see them clearly.

Hang around the FLF sims too, as there is plenty of great entertainment going on too.  30 seconds to go - I will try to get more posts done before FLF closes, wish me luck!  Whoohoo, I did it, I did it!  Ok, adrenalin rush might be slightly hyperbolic, but not entirely :).  I apologise for the proliferation of exclamation marks in this post - please blame the adrenalin!

#468 Fashion for Life is open!

This event has become a mainstay of the fashion community and  it is exciting to see this tradition  continue with a special 10th anniversary event. Fashion For Life will open its doors today, March 6th 2016 and will run for 14 days, closing at 6pm SLT on March 20th. 

The Fashion For Life event  began as a dream 10 years ago with 34 designers participating all with a special reason to fundraise for Relay For Life. Since that date, it has grown to over 180 Designers covering 10 sims and has raised close to 20 million Linden Dollars for Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society .  To celebrate this Special Event and Milestone, Amethyst Starostin and Nevar Lobo, the founders of the Clothing Fair in 2006, have returned to plan this amazing event.

This year is going to be a trip back in time and Celebrate the history of the Clothing Fair (Fashion for Life). Prepare to be immersed in 10 of the greatest sims built by some of Second Life's most talented builders. What is the Theme you ask ? Well its :  " THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT"   I like the sound of that!

There will be fabulous designers,  Live Musicians and DJ's; and T1 Radio will be covering 24/ 7 throughout the fair.  But that is not all:   With over 150 designers, the event will also offer One of A kind Auctions and Fashion Shows; plus a Treasure Hunt, and a Photo Contest. Another highlight is the fabulous Elysium Cabaret Dance troupe that will be there to perform not one but two shows during the event.

#467 Stand & Deliver!

Here is another outfit from the many fantastic offerings at Fashion for Life which opens tomorrow.  I have chosen to show you the Rose FFL version of this outfit, but it comes in a selection of beautiful colour sets.  Shani has a number of other items for sale but when I saw this outfit, I just had to wear it.    There is a little "nip slip" in the corset, so as my blog is pg I used strategically placed hair to cover up and not shock my audience :).

My boots are another "hot off the shoe press" from KC Couture - I will show them again in closer detail, but I wanted to share them now as they are on promo on the marketplace for just 79L - this is a limited offer so grab them here now before the promo ends.  

The Outer Garden, where I took these pics, is a stunningly beautiful serene white sim, and might seem a bit of a strange choice for this outfit.  I had been visiting gothic sims but none of them worked for me, however when I landed here I really liked the contrast and the sense of incongruence.

#465 First "Sneak Peek" at goodies coming to Fashion for Life soon

On 6 March, Fashion for Life in support of Relay for Life open their 10th anniversary event with the theme of "That's Entertainment".  I always like knowing my lindens are going to a special cause, and find it a very good reason to spend spend spend - I hope you feel the same and will spend spend spend at FFL!  I will add the slurl when the sims open - yes, sims - 10 of 'em!

The first sneak peek I am showing you is a dress I am totally in love with, from a designer I have heard of but must admit to never checking out.  The designer is Plowwies and the reason I have not visited is that I thought they only made jammies (pyjamas if you are posh :) ) - and I don't wear jammies in either life.  Plowwies do indeed have some cute jammies available at FFL, and also a cute critter gacha, but they also have this fantastic dress.  It comes with a hud allowing you to change multiple faces independently, and the colour choices are absolutely gorgeous.  

My shoes (close up below) are brand new from Glamistry and I think they just might be my favourite ever pair of Glamistry shoes.  My poses are again from Exposeur where you will find all poses and props reduced to 50L-100L and gachs 15L a go to raise funds for veterinary bills for the owner's sick kitty - please read the flickr post here to learn more about it.

Most of the time, when I have blogged an item I delete the outfit, but sometimes I like them so much I add them to my "keepers" outfit folder - and this is definitely one of those.

#339 Distressed Jeans and Cabarets

Today's outfit appeared when I got notification of two group gifts for members of Mina's VIP Group, and one of them was this great shaved quiffy do - I really love short shaved styles (and MINA do them so well).  I think it's my inner punk showing through.  I am blogging the Rock Attitude Fashion Fair so hopefully there will be quite a few edgy rocky posts coming to this blog very soon.

I also wanted to share these great distressed jeans from DE Designs, which come fitted for Maitreya, Belleza and SLink mesh bodies, and also classic avatar - for a change, I am not wearing a mesh bod (which now feels a bit strange, like I am half naked).  I am wearing the classic pair and they fit perfectly.  The jeans come with a hud to change the back pocket details, and the jeans come in black, blue, dark, dingy and light.

I wanted to wear this very new incredibly pretty skin from WOW but kinda punk it up a little, and I knew just where to find what I wanted - I am wearing one of the full make-ups from Sn@tch at the Skin Fair, and which will be available in the main Sn@tch store after the fair ends on the 29th.  I did a post showing the fantastic range of these make-ups, plus another set here.

#236 One day left for Lapointe & Bastchild Fashion for Life exclusives

This will be my last Fashion for Life post as it closes tomorrow, the 20th.  I just had to show you these truly fabulous capris from Lapointe & Bastchild - I have been on a quest to find capris that I like for about two years, and here, I finally found them - thank you L & B! 

There are two exclusive editions - the candy version (with 8 texture choices) I am wearing here, and a denim version (which has 6 texture choices).  Neither will be sold again after FFL. so if you are a huge Lapointe & Bastchild fan like me, waste no time, run and get yours before they are gone forever!

I absolutely love this top from FireBird Designs for the Thrift Shop.  It comes with a texture change hud with a great selection of textures (16) and I am actually wearing the fitted mesh version - only the second time I have been able to wear fitted mesh without it looking very odd on me. So yay!

#235 Lilies for Fashion for Life

This is a quick post to show you this absolutely beautiful gown that Sage have released for Fashion for Life.  It is available in the white I am wearing here, and in pink - the top and skirt are separates so you can mix and match with other items.  The floral textures are beautifully done and it really is a deliciously feminine and fresh outfit that I absolutely love.

You still have until the 20th to go and explore Fashion for Life and buy some goodies for yourself while helping out a fantastic cause in the process.

Here I am in another outfit almost completely from Fashion for Life.  The dress is from Even Flow and I am wearing the fatpack which comes with a hud allowing you to switch the top, skirt and belt textures, so I have shown you a selection of looks you can achieve.  You get materials and non materials versions, and fitted mesh as well as the usual 5 standard sizes.  My bag is from the Redux gacha, also at Fashion for Life.
