#405 Ocho Tango on the Rocks

I am back at the Vintage & Cool Fair again today, quite fitting as in my first sl incarnation 8 1/2 years ago, I spent much of my first year hunting the grid to find a poodle skirt - yes, a poodle skirt.  I have always loved vintage clothing, particularly anything fifties and whereas today we have so much choice, at that time vintage stuff was very sparse.  My earlier incarnation would have thought she had died and gone to sl heaven if she had found a dress like this.  It is from Leri Miles Design and is available in 12 delicious colours.  As always with Leri, her texturing is perfection, and although it is not sold as mesh body compatible, I had no issue fitting it to my Maitreya Lara mesh body.  


My shoes are new from KC Couture are compatible with Belleza, Eve, Slink, TMP and Maitreya.  Of course it comes with Klari's humongously generous hud allowing you to change 7 shoe parts separately, and she has again included an extra selection of patterns for the main part of the shoe - I hope she keeps on doing this, I love it!

#396 The lazy avatar's guide to effortless dressing

My post is so titled because my whole outfit today comes with texture change huds - so wear 'em, click 'em, and everyone will think you just pulled your outfit straight out of the laundry pile, freshly washed and ironed (does anyone still iron these days?).

Today I am sharing some newness and also some go-to items from my inventory.  I don't wear brown much in sl (and never irl - it reminds me of my yucky school uniform), but I think maybe my state of mind irl led me to darker colours (it would have been my mum's birthday last week, and yesterday was five months since she passed away, and I struggle at times to deal with it), but I didn't want to do black, so brown won.  

This cute skirt from DE Designs comes in leather (worn here), plaid and fabric. It is available in single colours with which you get a hud allowing you to change the texture of the band and hardware, or fatpacks operated by hud.  You will receive skirts rigged for Belleza Venus, Freya and Isis, Maitreya Lara, Slink Physique, classic avatar fitted, and standard mesh sizes.  

My top from Just Because fits perfectly and is of course beautifully made - it comes in a large selection of colours from brights to darks to neutrals, and can be bought singly or in a fat pack, and comes rigged for Belleza Venus Freya and Isis, Maitreya Lara, Slink Physique and classic avatar standard sizing.

My jacket from Lapointe & Bastchild is an oldie but a goodie, and of course texture change - I love the distressed leather texture which makes it look very real, particularly in this colour.

I am wearing another set of jewellery by Indulge Temptation, a new-to-me designer, and who I featured for the first time in an earlier post here, wearing a different set of this design.  I am really loving both the design and texture change options in their jewellery and will definitely be looking out for more from them.

My boots from Glamistry are a work of pixel art as you would expect from him - and as always come with his ingenious hud system which allows you to add new colours from your living room (or anywhere in sl for that matter).  You will only ever have one pair of shoes in your inventory - and even better, each new colour is added to the "pool" from which you can customise your footwear.

#390 A walk in the forest

Today's outfit started right at the tip of my head with this beautiful crown from Zuri Rayna, which comes in an array of different colours and metals. The Junbug gown was already in my inventory, it was a 55L or 60L offer (cant remember which) a while ago, and like maybe 90% of my inventory, has never been worn.  It is truly gorgeous - look at that back view, absolutely stunning. 

My hair is a recent release from Elikatira - it is so elegant and understated and has become a real favourite updo.  My shoes from KC Couture come with their wonderful extensive texture change hud - these are the suede Antea, but you can also buy them in snake.  In your box you get the shoes rigged for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink.

#384 Ice Blue in SL

June is Wedding Month at Zuri Jewelry and this is just one of the many beautiful sets available at 25% off during June, and if you are a group member you will get another 25% refunded if you wear your tag.  These are true statement pieces and whether you are getting married or going to a formal ball, this set will really get you noticed.

I started this post off with the jewelry, and then I had a hunt for a gown to go with them. Luckily I remembered Sharodie who does lovely mesh/flexi mixes.  The gown I am wearing here cost just $29L, and the flexi pieces work beautifully with the mesh gown.   I am mesh body-less in this post simply because none of the bodies I use enabled the right alpha cuts to wear with this gown.

#377 The ultimate Amaryllis

My dress from Just Because is absolutely beautifully rigged, as is anything Annie Melson makes.  The creases are subtle, but really bring movement to the dress, making it feel very realistic.  The criss-crossing on the back is perfection, as with Annie's criss cross tank.  It comes in a choice of 14 colours, or a fat pack with a hud.  It is rigged for SLink Physique, Belleza (push up and standard), Maitreya and also standard sizes for classic avatar.  I am wearing it on Belleza standard and it fits like a glove, not a single alpha tweak required - and with the criss crossing, this is amazing work.  

The selection of colours for this dress is extensive but I  really wanted to show this gorgeous rich burnt orange shade which didn't work well with my usual red hair, so I decided to go blonde for a change,. Piper is one of two new releases for Elikatira at Collabor88, so you can get it for a reduced price until June's Collabor88 ends. 

My shoes are from Glamistry and thanks to their ingenious hud system are very versatile. If you are new to Glamistry, however many colours you buy appear in a hud, allowing you to mix and match.  The more colours you buy the more combinations available.  You can buy new colours via the hud, so they are available right away and you don't even have to leave home to shop!  I have given a close up here just to give you an idea of how gorgeous the textures are - the leather is wonderfully realistic. Thankfully it is pixel leather so as a vegetarian I can still wear them :).  I don't think anyone on the grid creating shoes right now can compare with the artistry of Glamistry.

#374 Nina poses prettily

I've gone a bit crazy with the pics in this post but I just couldn't choose which dress to show of the Nina Color Block pack from DE Designs.  I am a Libran, so it is just not fair to expect me to make a decision (are you listening Tomm? ;)), so of course I must show them all!  

As well as being beautifully made and rigged, I really love the kinda swinging sixties vibe these dresses have going on.  The Color Block pack of Nina comes in the four colourways I have shown - you can purchase them individually or in a fat pack. Included in the pack are dresses rigged for Belleza Venus, Maitreya Lara, SLink Physique and classic avatar (with an alpha for this option). I am wearing it with Belleza Venus and it fits perfectly. Nina is also available in leather and fabric.

#372 The world is my flip flop

Long long ago, in a previous incarnation far far away, my avvie had pink hair that I fashioned out of the default sl hair, really stylish as I am sure you can imagine. Sadly/thankfully, no pics of those early days (over 8 years ago) remain, but at the time I thought I looked really cool, so my avvie was pink haired for a long time.  One day she discovered a hair store and bought her first "real hair" which was probably only a small step up from the default hair (and the shop still exists so mentioning no names) - but my avvie put her pink hair days behind her.

Zsa has never, as far as I can remember, worn coloured hair unless for a fantasy type blog post, but when I saw this gorgeous new hair from Elikatira I was wearing lavender pants and top, and I suddenly had the urge to go purple.  My earrings and pendant from Maxi Gossamer really seemed to fit the vibe I felt wearing this outfit, and I think give a nice contrast to all my purpleness.

The fit of this top from Just Because is nothing short of perfection, but next time I blog it, I must remember to take a pic of the criss cross back which is stunning.  You can buy the top separately (13 colours to choose from) or buy the fat pack with a hud to change colours.  My starstruck jeans from Sky come with a hud with a choice of 8 colours, my flip flops (or thongs to my Antipodean friends) from Illi come with a large amount of preset colours for independent strap and bottom changes, but also an infinity colour picker so the world can be your flip flop too.

#370 A new twist on Sky

This outfit from Sky is beautifully made and textured as you would expect from Sky Summerwind, with great strap and zip detailing on the skirt.  It comes with a hud allowing 5 texture changes for the skirt and top separately.  I am wearing it on my SLink mesh body and was wondering if I would have trouble with alphas for the leg but I had no issues at all, no alpha tweaking required.

My poses are from a new KaTink release - they are so dramatic, totally different to any I have seen before - and they seem to be just made for this outfit to show off the side details so well.  They transition beautifully and the set of 10 poses will be sold at Sneak Peek for 350L - that is a 50L discount for the fat pack.  Once the event is over, Gabby will be split into 2 sets - Set 1 and Set 2 and will be sold at the KaTink store for 200L each.  Sneak Peek opens it's gates on the 25th.

My shoes are a recent release from KC Couture for SLink high feet, and as always they come with an extensive hud allowing you to colour different parts of the shoe for total customisability (ok that is another word I just invented, but it fits!). 

I am so happy to see some new hair from Elikatira - e l i k a p e k a is one of my favourite hair designers, and her three new styles don't disappoint at all.  There are 7 colour huds to choose from, each containing wonderful textures and tones whatever your colour of choice.
