#521 Lace

Today I am teaming my Lelutka Karin mesh head with a new applier from Glam Affair and my Maitreya Lara, bringing together items from Mesh Body Addicts Fair, FaMESHed, Collabor88 and Designer Showcase.

  It's been a long time since I wore my Lelutka mesh head, Karin, though she was actually my first ever mesh head.  When I demo'd this very pretty applier from Glam Affair at the Mesh Body Addicts Fair I decided to give it a try, and here she is!  I am really not sure why I have not brought Karin out of her box much, I guess I am just very comfortable with my Catwa heads, but I have such fun playing with new heads, I must do it more.

My hair is brand new from Elikatira for FaMESHed and comes in the usual extensive range of huds.  The band is also texture change via hud.

One of my favourite parts of SL events is discovering new designers, and my outfit today is from a new-to-me (but I've probably been living under a rock) designer, Mimikri, and is available at The Mesh Body Addicts Fair.  I particularly love the very pretty lace skirt, and matched with the simple tank it is so easy to wear, and comes in a range of pretty muted colours.

My poses are brand new from Nantra for tomorrow's round of Collabor88 - they aren't really aimed at this kind of outfit but as I had this post already planned apart from poses, I went with them, and I think they work very well.

I am so into my mesh heads now, I can't imagine I will ever be able to wear my system head again!  Today I am wearing Mila from Belleza on my Catwa Jessica head again but with the addition of some of the make-up from their new add-on which is available at The Liaison Collaborative.  

My dress and shoes are from a Hilly Haalan ouftit currently available at The Designer Showcase.  The outfit includes a clutch (not shown), and all three pieces are texture change via hud, giving a selection of mix and match solids and patterned textures to choose from.  The dress and shoes are compatible with most of the major mesh bodies plus classic avvies.

I used a new studio for these pics - when I got my new pc I was very much into the "on location rather than studio" mindset as I finally had a pc that could cope.  However, there are occasions when I missed using a studio so when I heard about this one in a youtube video by Morgana Hilra here I ran to check it out - long story short, I was impressed, I bought it, and I love it!   

For just $350 this studio from SecondSnaps has everything I need plus a whole heap more.  There is a great choice of backgrounds already loaded and there are more to purchase or you can load your own.  It comes with a pose stand loaded with quality female and male poses (I am using Nantra poses here though).  It also has a shadow menu giving some great shadow options, and you can alter the opacity of those shadows, which is really useful.  There are also colour change lights which you can choose to use, or not.  I have only had the studio a few days so still have to learn all it can do, but already I can say without a second's doubt that for 350L it is incredible value for money and I wish I had found it years ago!

#477 Keep your face always to the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you

Yay!  Zsa is an excited little blogger today, she has finally taken the leap and fallen in  love with her mesh head!  With mesh bodies, it took me a long time before I jumped, but when I did, I loved them so much it is inconceivable for me now to not wear one.  Same with mesh heads - I have had quite a few in my inventory gathering pixel dust for ages, but never liked the way they looked on me.  Then I tried this applier from Belleza and fell in love - I still feel like me, just a much improved me!  When I saw my system avvie after wearing this head for a day, I was quite horrified that I ever allowed myself to wander around the grid, let alone appear on this blog, looking like that!

My dress is new from Entice and I think it has a bit of a 1940's classy vibe.  You have 4 different huds to choose from, each one having 3 textures, it was a real struggle to choose, they are all lovely.  The Maitreya dress fits perfectly to my Maitreya Lara mesh body and you also get the dress in Slink, Belleza, classic and fitmesh.  They are just 99L for each hud for Super Sales Weekend which ends on the 8th

My shoes are brand new from KC Couture, and I thought they also have a vintage vibe.  They are currently available at the new round of Designer Showcase.  As always they come with a humoungous texture change hud so you can make them work with any outfit, and are also compatible with Belleza, Slink and Eve.

My necklace, earrings and bracelet are currently on offer at Indulge Temptation, but they will be changing soon, so if you want them you need to run.  There are 6 packs available, some for Sixty Linden Weekends and some for 55L Thursday.

#407 Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness

Why am I quoting Keats?  Well, Autumn is on its way, and the last few days I have felt a little quiet, reflective and somewhat withdrawn.  It has been over 6 months now since my mum passed away, and I can still hardly believe it.  She is never far from my mind but sometimes it hits me harder, and when it does I hide away (in my burrow, says the only rl friend who knows of this blog).

 Snowpaws has never been a store I frequent often, for no particular reason I can think of, but when I saw an advert for this outfit (top and skrit are bought together) on sale at Designer Showcase, it looked just right for my mood.  So off I went to pick it up and it really is a delight to wear, very soft and gentle and muted, wearing it feels a bit like being enclosed by a soft very pretty cloud.  The tulle is beautifully done, and I managed to fit it to my Maitreya Lara mesh body with not too much tweaking.  To match the whole soft mood I even wanted to mute my hair, so no red today, just a pretty light blonde.  

On a lighter note, one of my favourite people in sl tp'd me this afternoon after I was putting the finishing touch to this outfit and the first words out of her mouth when I had rezzed were "you are blonde!", which shows how rarely I do it.  The first words out of my mouth when she rezzed were "boobies!".  She always insists she is fully clothed, but rarely is - I shouldn't be surprised, Tomm''s affectionate nickname for her is "Flash" :).

My jewelry is from a "new to me" store, Meva, who I only discovered at My Attic last month, and I blogged their jewelry set here.  I wandered down to their mainstore and found a treasure trove of goodies - I picked up the group gift and a few other things and I am sure they will all appear on this blog in the near future. Both the necklace and bangle I am wearing come with huge texture change huds which is always a massive plus for me.

#297 After the Rain

Tomm and I have been looking for a new house this week, so this post has been "in the works" for a few days, and I thought it was time I finished it.  When not house hunting I have spent an inordinate amount of time sorting out my inventory, reducing the tally by over 10k - and also streamlining my whole blogging folder as I am determined to be a super organised little blogger this year.

This outfit is not my usual kind of look at all, but I really loved the smart lines of this outfit, and the textures, as you would expect from DE Boutique, are sublime.  The outfit is on sale at the January round of Designer Showcase.

#296 Stripes

I am showing another beautiful new skin from .::WoW Skins::., available at the current round of Designer Circle.  My necklace and earring set are one of a few I grabbed along at the Maxi Gossamer 50% off sale.  I don't know how long the sale will be on so best check quickly if you want some bargain goodies.

I am wearing a new outfit from CV which consists of a skirt and a jacket with integral top to match the skirt.  The set is available in an array of colours, but I rarely wear stripes so thought I would ring the changes a bit.  I am really liking everything I have seen from CV  so far and am looking forward to whatever they release next.

#250 The Night Cat

Today I am showing off another stunning new Belleza skin, exclusive to a new event, Uber.   I got the SK but Beth is also available in pale, and comes with 6 different make-ups.  She really is so beautiful, and quite different to the new full release, Claudia.  

Truth has some hair out at Uber too, and long, wavy, hair band, has me all over it.  Love it!  My jewellery is an oldie but goodie from [LNS Designs]  who  make some of the most beautiful original mesh items on the grid in my opinion.

As soon as I saw this outfit from LivGlam I had to wear it - why?  Well cats of course!  The shorts and jacket are static, but you have a hud with 3 very different choices for the t-shirt (only one of them feline).  Fantastic value at less than 100L.  I have matched it with a pair of their shoes which comes with a 64 pantone hud making it very easy to find the shade I wanted to go with the outfit.

 All the poses in this post are from the In My Shoes prop from WetCat - you can see a bit of the prop in the photo above.  I love that not only has it great poses for showing shoes but also for general posing.

#249 Where the not-so-wild little unicorn roams

 I am bringing you a real mish mash of newness today.  My cute outfit is the Leri Miles Designs Cupcakes Anonymous Hunt gift, and comprises the tank and skirt, beautifully textured and real fun to wear.  My cute little companion is one of the rares from MOoH! at the Where the Wild Things are Gacha event.  Though you can't see them clearly he has butterflies flying round his head, and you can also sit on the mushroom (pic of me doing so is on flickr),  

 I am wearing Belleza's new Claudia again and falling more in love with her each time I wear her. The red eyebrows are the best I have come across yet (I am wearing the dark here), and the freckles, moles, lipstick and make-up choices are enough to keep me happy finding new combinations for a long long time.  I thought the skin was a perfect match for the newish hair from  ^;^CaTwA^;^, which comes with a load of flexi add-ons, and bangs options should you wish to use them.

Last, but absolutely not least, I have paired my outfit with some of Luana Dawg of aru's new add ons for SLink flatties.  They are available in five other colours and are, as you would expect from Luana, just perfect, beautifully made and a joy to wear - and also a little different to anything else I have seen before.
