#400 In search of Dragonflies

I really love it when something arrives in my inventory and inspires a blog post.  Today's catalyst was this stunning crown from Zuri Rayna.  It comes in an array of gorgeous colours, but I remembered something in my inventory that this colour would be just perfect with.  The crown is on sale at Fair Play along with other items from Zuri, and will return to full price when the event is over.

My skin is the current Lazy Sunday item from the incredibly generous Lumiya Ray of Lumae.  For just 75L you get the skin in your choice of tone, with eyebrow colours, freckles and cleavage layers, mod shape, and every body and head applier that you could possibly want.  I used the no brow option and went hunting for a coloured or tintable eyebrow, and I found this amazing set from Mynx Legend which includes a selection of eyebrows tintable to whatever shade you wish.

My hair is one of the 3 styles Sisch Firecaster of KoKoLoReS has available at the current round of We Love Roleplay.  I really love her huds which give you such a wide array of colours and tones, and you don't have to choose just one colour family.

My outfit from Posh Pixels is their contribution to the Lexi Project - for further info check out the blog The Lexi Project.  It comprises the dress, wings and strap boots.  The wings are absolutely beautiful, so gauzy and delicate.  There is a circlet with the outfit but I chose to wear Zuri Rayna's gorgeous crown.

#396 The lazy avatar's guide to effortless dressing

My post is so titled because my whole outfit today comes with texture change huds - so wear 'em, click 'em, and everyone will think you just pulled your outfit straight out of the laundry pile, freshly washed and ironed (does anyone still iron these days?).

Today I am sharing some newness and also some go-to items from my inventory.  I don't wear brown much in sl (and never irl - it reminds me of my yucky school uniform), but I think maybe my state of mind irl led me to darker colours (it would have been my mum's birthday last week, and yesterday was five months since she passed away, and I struggle at times to deal with it), but I didn't want to do black, so brown won.  

This cute skirt from DE Designs comes in leather (worn here), plaid and fabric. It is available in single colours with which you get a hud allowing you to change the texture of the band and hardware, or fatpacks operated by hud.  You will receive skirts rigged for Belleza Venus, Freya and Isis, Maitreya Lara, Slink Physique, classic avatar fitted, and standard mesh sizes.  

My top from Just Because fits perfectly and is of course beautifully made - it comes in a large selection of colours from brights to darks to neutrals, and can be bought singly or in a fat pack, and comes rigged for Belleza Venus Freya and Isis, Maitreya Lara, Slink Physique and classic avatar standard sizing.

My jacket from Lapointe & Bastchild is an oldie but a goodie, and of course texture change - I love the distressed leather texture which makes it look very real, particularly in this colour.

I am wearing another set of jewellery by Indulge Temptation, a new-to-me designer, and who I featured for the first time in an earlier post here, wearing a different set of this design.  I am really loving both the design and texture change options in their jewellery and will definitely be looking out for more from them.

My boots from Glamistry are a work of pixel art as you would expect from him - and as always come with his ingenious hud system which allows you to add new colours from your living room (or anywhere in sl for that matter).  You will only ever have one pair of shoes in your inventory - and even better, each new colour is added to the "pool" from which you can customise your footwear.

#393 Mina at Hair Fair 2015

Mina is one of my favourite hair designers whether I am looking for anything from an updo to something punky or anything in between - and if you are looking for something tousled, Mina is the place to go - nobody can out-tousle Mina!  On the Hair Fair blogger day, hers was the first booth I headed to, and the first hair I bought.

#392 Elikatira for Hair Fair 2015

Elikatira has long been one of my go-to stores for hair, so I was thrilled to find that they were participating in this year's Hair Fair.  They have a wonderful selection of goodies to choose from and a percentage of every sale will be donated to Wigs for Kids, so be sure to buy them now, don't wait till they are available at the mainstore

You get a lot for your money with Elikatira's colour packs - 12 solid shades and 8 ombres, so whether you are looking for something elegant and understated or something wild and funky, you will find them on your Elikatira hud.  I have shown you a little selection above, and details below.

Top Left:  Brooklyn (Redheads) - a really pretty long casual style with plenty of life, and I think my favourite of the four.

Top Right:  Claire (Blondes) - I have gone for a blonde ombre, a new look for me, but I really like the front loose ponies tied casually with texture change long ribbons.  Hang on, I think THIS might be my favourite.

Bottom Right:  Desta (Sunset Colours) - an unusual casual shorter do which I can see wearing a lot and which I particularly like in the non-natural palettes (dawn and sunset)- oh, maybe THIS is my favourite,

Bottom Left:  Rayne (Ravens) - a sporty side pony with a texture change hairband which I love - oh yes, maybe this is the one!

Nope, none are my favourite because I love them all!

#391 Who bought all the Hair?

Hair Fair is one of my favourite annual events for two reasons - obviously the hair, but more importantly, every year money is raised for Wigs for Kids, a cause close to my heart.  I am still going through my boxes but wanted to share this gorgeous hair from Fiore, my first ever hair from them.  

I am also showing you a few more things from My Slink Obsession (MSO) and reminding you that you have till the 22nd to snatch up some of the goodies on offer.  My props are from Repose for MSO, and come with 5 poses and the appropriate bags for each pose.  My wedges are from B!asta, again for MSO, and come in a variety of great colours, each of which give you a choice of 4 different colours via hud for the wedge part.  My dress from Indyra is not from MSO, but I love it anyway - very easy to wear with my Slink Physique, it also comes with a hud giving 6 colour choices.

#388 My Slink Obsession stars in Don't forget your Undies!

As a lover of vintage glamour and fifties fun, I am a huge fan of Terrie Dreadlow's work , so was thrilled to see that she has created a new outfit for My Slink Obsession.  The dress is rigged for Slink Physique absolutely perfectly and also comes in standard sizing and various fitmesh sizes.  The wedges come rigged for both Slink and Belleza. Both dress and wedges come with extensive texture change huds allowing various parts to be changed independently for ultimate customisabilty (apparently that is not a word - it is now!).  

I decided to be a blue eyed blonde for this post for no particular reason other than that I can. I am really loving this bright blonde shade from Elikatira, though of course the hud gives you many different blonde shades to choose from.  I also think the blonde works really well with Sawsan Secretspy's delicately beautiful skin currently at Designer Circle.

ps in case you are wondering, the title for this post refers to the bottom right pic in the collage - it was only when I was taking that pic that I realised Zsa (who is lazy and rarely wears undies) was inadvertently flashing. Not so bad as she was the only one there and I could move the camera angle to preserve her dignity (which she has now lost again as I am telling you about this).  However, I later tp'd to a friend while wearing this outfit, landed on their head, and then sat down to ride a helicopter - neither activity should be attempted without undies or an outfit that covers more than this dress does!

#387 My Slink Obsession, now open!

The revamped My Slink Obsession reopens tomorrow, bringing you a plethora of goodies specially made for your Slink body parts.  In this first MSO sneak peek I am showing you lip colours, nails and poses that you can purchase when MSO opens tomorrow.  

I have used a natural PXL skin as the base to show you these yummy lip colours from KoKoLoReS.  Sisch is one of the sweetest, most hard working people I know in SL, as well as being one of the most stylish, and it is always a great pleasure to share some of her items on my blog. There are two packs of lip colours available at MSO, the first being the Soft Lips shown above, and the second are the Colour Pop Lips, shown below.

Each pack includes 5 colours - these packs along with the eye bags (not shown) all come with appliers for Slink Visage, Lelutka and Eve heads, but also in tattoo layer which I am using here.  There is also a tattoo with appliers for Slink, Maitreya and Omega systems, and again tattoo layer also.  

Nails worn with the Soft Lips are from the A.S.S. In Darkness 2 set, and the Dark Horse Style Blush set.  With the Colour Pop lips I have used nails from the A.S.S. In Darkness sets 1 & 2, and their Meadow Picnic sets 1 & 2.

My poses are from Signature Pose, again for MSO, and I have used the Nicki set for these pictures.  My hair is one of Elikatira's recent releases, and it probably goes without saying that the hud includes a vast array of textures for the hairband/bow - put a texture change hud in my hands and you will keep me happily quiet for hours!

#384 Ice Blue in SL

June is Wedding Month at Zuri Jewelry and this is just one of the many beautiful sets available at 25% off during June, and if you are a group member you will get another 25% refunded if you wear your tag.  These are true statement pieces and whether you are getting married or going to a formal ball, this set will really get you noticed.

I started this post off with the jewelry, and then I had a hunt for a gown to go with them. Luckily I remembered Sharodie who does lovely mesh/flexi mixes.  The gown I am wearing here cost just $29L, and the flexi pieces work beautifully with the mesh gown.   I am mesh body-less in this post simply because none of the bodies I use enabled the right alpha cuts to wear with this gown.
