#387 My Slink Obsession, now open!

The revamped My Slink Obsession reopens tomorrow, bringing you a plethora of goodies specially made for your Slink body parts.  In this first MSO sneak peek I am showing you lip colours, nails and poses that you can purchase when MSO opens tomorrow.  

I have used a natural PXL skin as the base to show you these yummy lip colours from KoKoLoReS.  Sisch is one of the sweetest, most hard working people I know in SL, as well as being one of the most stylish, and it is always a great pleasure to share some of her items on my blog. There are two packs of lip colours available at MSO, the first being the Soft Lips shown above, and the second are the Colour Pop Lips, shown below.

Each pack includes 5 colours - these packs along with the eye bags (not shown) all come with appliers for Slink Visage, Lelutka and Eve heads, but also in tattoo layer which I am using here.  There is also a tattoo with appliers for Slink, Maitreya and Omega systems, and again tattoo layer also.  

Nails worn with the Soft Lips are from the A.S.S. In Darkness 2 set, and the Dark Horse Style Blush set.  With the Colour Pop lips I have used nails from the A.S.S. In Darkness sets 1 & 2, and their Meadow Picnic sets 1 & 2.

My poses are from Signature Pose, again for MSO, and I have used the Nicki set for these pictures.  My hair is one of Elikatira's recent releases, and it probably goes without saying that the hud includes a vast array of textures for the hairband/bow - put a texture change hud in my hands and you will keep me happily quiet for hours!

Ailis for the Luck of the Irish

The mesh dress and wings shown here are both from [ SAKIDE ] for the Luck of the Irish gacha event, starting today.  

You win one pair of mesh wings per play, there are 11 to collect in total - 9 colours plus two rares which give you the option to change poppy colours via hud (the white and black shown above are rares).  All give you the option to resize, hide/show the poppies, and add glow.

There are 9  dress colours to win, including a hud to change the colour of the bells and show/hide them.  The rare win is all the dresses in one hud. Tango appliers are included with each dress, and thankfully so are system undies to spare your blushes  :).

Spiked

Today I am wearing some of my favourite items from my inventory and one new addition, which is the fabulous jacket which is FBD's item for the Style Icon Fair.  I am wearing the silver but it is also available in gold.  Each gives you two options - one with and one without the shirt - I am showing the "with" option.   I absolutely love the detailing and particularly the texturing on the back - it is certainly befitting of it's baroque name. The jackets cost 199L at the event.

Berry's Black and White Portrait Challenge

I am a bit late with this one, as I have been moving home and studio in sl, so have not been able to work on blog posts as much as I would like.  Anyway, the latest challenge from Strawberry Singh, the Black & White Portrait Challenge, is right up my street as for as long as I can remember I have had a real love of black and white photography.  You can find Berry's original post and challenge instructions here:

I don't use Photoshop, I do my cropping etc in Picmonkey, which is where I created the black & white pic - but as a lover of old photos, including a sepia, I checked to see if they had that option, and they did, so I thought I would share all three. Out of the three I have a definite favourite - if you do, let me know, I would be really interested to see if anyone agrees with me!

Valentina & Mata Hari

Today I am wearing a beautiful new gown from Pure Poison - as a member of their VIP group you get a 50% discount on one colour of all new releases, and 20% discount on other colours. It is a very elegant and I love the diamond heart detailing on the back.  

The gown completely covered my shoes, so I uncovered them to take a pic.  I will be honest, despite not being able to survive without my SLink hands, flat and medium feet, I have been slow warming to the high feet, as practically all other add ons I have tried for them just look somehow clumsy and unwieldy to me.  Not so with these shoes from Sax Shepherd Designs, they fit like a dream and look even better. I can't actually work out what is different about them, but whatever it is, I love them.  I am also wearing a necklace, ring and earring set from Sax Shepherd Designs which are also beautifully crafted.  Both shoes and jewels come with a hud allowing you to customise your items in many different ways.

What I learned with this post:  never to use a black background against bare skin!  This is one blog post where I really wish I used PS.

This post is very different to my usual - my first collaboration with another blogger, my first real attempt at shadows, and probably my first post with only one picture.   I still have a lot to learn about shadows, but it was fun, and I was very lucky to have an amazing pose to build this post around and a very patient teacher.  Check Billy's post to listen to the song he based the post on.

Spiked

Today's jacket (which includes the top underneath) and mini skirt are from FireBird Designs for the latest round of Feeb's Rascals.  

The pack also comes with high heeled open toe boots, but I am wearing my Ducknipple Mesh Meine Boots instead.  The boots from FireBird are really cute,  but I have to confess to now being totally lazy when it comes to skin matching huds - I was never very good at it to start with, but am now completely spoilt by the Gos and SLink matching systems.  I have also added a pair of sweater tights from Sn@tch.

The Meine boots come with a texture changing hud, and I have included here a sneak peak of each of the colours available.

Newness for The Kollective and Gothmas by Gaslight

This stunning gown is available at the new round of The Kollective.  I like the way the textures are mixed on most of the dresses, and I really love the back cut-out.  You get all 12 textures on the hud, which is great value, and fun for someone like me who loves playing with huds :).

The gorgeous necklace and earrings I am wearing is by AZE for Gothmas by Gaslight which is on until January 5th.  The photos really can't do them justice, however, as they are filled with magically swirling snowflakes - clean snow in the silver and gold, dirty in the copper and gunmental!  I have added a really pretty ring by Cae.

This is another great outfit from Ducknipple SLX.  I will be honest, blogging has made me a little lazy about what I wear when not working on a blog post (so if you see me inworld wearing slippers and curlers, please ignore me), so I particularly enjoy finding something like this where all you need is in the same box.  I love the jacket which of course comes with a texture change hud, I have shown all 5 choices.  The outfit includes the cute boots and the necklace.  Perfect for the days when you don;t want to faff about creating a new outfit from scratch.

I am showing here one of the gorgeous gifts from Belleza this Christmas, and a new outfit from Ducknipple SLX.  Not very Christmassy I know, but much as I love snow and Christmas, when i saw this outfit it felt good to take a break from the cold. It helps that I love the outfit too, both the colours and the texturing, and I know I will wear these again and again.

The outfit comes with two huds, one for the skirt and one for the top, and obviously you can wear them in whatever combination you wish, I have just shown these combinations to show you all the colours available in the tops and skirts.

Here are close-ups of the bangle and necklace which come with the outfit - if you are wondering why you can't see the necklace in any other shot, it is because I had just finished uploading my pics to flickr when I realised that I was wearing a necklace, but it was positioned inside my avvie, arrrrrgghhh,  

So instead of re-shooting everything, I have just done a quick shot of it to show you the necklace.  

Because of the many boobs I have made while learning to blog, I created a checklist full of stuff like "check there are no trees going out of your head, that your skirt isn't eating your hand, your eyes aren't crossed, your alpha isn't showing" etc etc - well now I need to add "make sure if you are wearing jewellery that it is outside, not inside, your body!"

Today's post is a blend of old, new and somewhere in between.  The sculpted jacket from Lapointe & Bastchild is the "old" but is proof that there is still life in some well made pre-mesh stuff.

I love this cozy mini from Firebird Designs for Feebs Rascals which comes with 4 different with/without belt and with/without cowl options, as shown in the collage.  The boots come with the outfit and the whole thing fits like a dream.

My skin is the current group gift from WOW Skins.  The group costs $300 to join, but as well as the current gift, you can pick up the group gifts for the last year.  There is also a wall of group only lucky boards and MM's, all of which give quality gifts.
