#506 Green

Today I bring you new goodies from the Pulse fundraiser, Uber and FaMESHed.  I am very happy to share with you Annie Melson's latest creation, currently available at Uber - the gorgeous Mirage gown.  This mesh is simply stunning, fitting every curve of my Maitreya Lara like a glove.  It comes in an array of gorgeous colours, and very happily I can tell you it comes with intrinsic undies which you can colour coordinate with your dress - and you can also change the bead colour on the straps.  

My jewelry is another gorgeous offering from Caelan Hancroft of Cae - the necklace and earrings are from the Mila set, now available at FaMESHed.  The full set includes a choker which I have not worn here, and comes with a hud allowng multiple wear options, plus gem and metal choices. I am also wearing one of Cae's earlier creations, the mantra bracelet - I featured the Peace bracelet with a close up here, and am wearing the Love one in this post.  These bracelets are now one of my most loved jewelery pieces and at some point I am sure Strength and Life will appear on this blog.

My nails from Alaskametro are from Pulse and I have added a pop of colour to my outfit using one of the "mix it" options.  This pack has loads of options, is really good value, and best of all, 100% of the sale price is going straight to the Pulse fundraiser.

Spiked

Today I am wearing some of my favourite items from my inventory and one new addition, which is the fabulous jacket which is FBD's item for the Style Icon Fair.  I am wearing the silver but it is also available in gold.  Each gives you two options - one with and one without the shirt - I am showing the "with" option.   I absolutely love the detailing and particularly the texturing on the back - it is certainly befitting of it's baroque name. The jackets cost 199L at the event.

Berry's Black and White Portrait Challenge

I am a bit late with this one, as I have been moving home and studio in sl, so have not been able to work on blog posts as much as I would like.  Anyway, the latest challenge from Strawberry Singh, the Black & White Portrait Challenge, is right up my street as for as long as I can remember I have had a real love of black and white photography.  You can find Berry's original post and challenge instructions here:

I don't use Photoshop, I do my cropping etc in Picmonkey, which is where I created the black & white pic - but as a lover of old photos, including a sepia, I checked to see if they had that option, and they did, so I thought I would share all three. Out of the three I have a definite favourite - if you do, let me know, I would be really interested to see if anyone agrees with me!

Valentina & Mata Hari

Today I am wearing a beautiful new gown from Pure Poison - as a member of their VIP group you get a 50% discount on one colour of all new releases, and 20% discount on other colours. It is a very elegant and I love the diamond heart detailing on the back.  

The gown completely covered my shoes, so I uncovered them to take a pic.  I will be honest, despite not being able to survive without my SLink hands, flat and medium feet, I have been slow warming to the high feet, as practically all other add ons I have tried for them just look somehow clumsy and unwieldy to me.  Not so with these shoes from Sax Shepherd Designs, they fit like a dream and look even better. I can't actually work out what is different about them, but whatever it is, I love them.  I am also wearing a necklace, ring and earring set from Sax Shepherd Designs which are also beautifully crafted.  Both shoes and jewels come with a hud allowing you to customise your items in many different ways.

What I learned with this post:  never to use a black background against bare skin!  This is one blog post where I really wish I used PS.

And in the end......

I love this background from KaTink , and had been looking for a shoot to use it on, and here it is :).

Zsa rebelled after a few "dressy" posts, and as the next one I have lined up is even dressier, she just wanted to chill in some new casual goodies that have arrived in the last few days. 

The tank is new at FaMESHed, and I just love it - it fits so well that I am sure it will become a staple of my wardrobe - and of course, I bought the fatpack :).  The pants, new from Ducknipple, are available in both male and female versions, and as you can see from the collage above, give a great selection of muted and brights via hud. 

The nails are new from Hello Dave and include 35 variations in the one palette -  fabulous value, with enough cuteness, fun and gorgeousness to keep anyone happy - and besides, how can anyone resist a shop with such a great name!

For the current round of The Kollective, with the theme Blustery Cold Weather, I was thrilled but had a minor blogger meltdown when I found out I had been partnered with Chigadee London, the creator behind Couture Chapeau.since 2006.  I have no experience of wearing hats in either life, so this post takes me way beyond my blogging comfort zone and I wanted to do justice to Chigadee's incredible creations for the Blow Them Away collection which pays homage to style icon Isabella Blow   I have deliberately styled these pics as simply as possible, so that the important part, the hats, take centre stage.

Dancing the Eyelash Spectacular

Something I really enjoy about blogging is finding a small item, particularly something really unusual like these fabulous eyelashes from Finesmith, and building a blog post around it - sometimes it takes a lot of thinking, experimenting, trying things on, and sometimes it all just falls together. 

In this case as soon as I tried the eyelashes on I knew I wanted to go down the pale, ethereal, fantasy path, and remembered that I had a Christmas Angel dress from Angelwing in my inventory.  Flexi they may be, but Angelwing's creations are still beautiful, and hard to beat for movement.

The eyelashes come with lots of different options, all of them spectacular, so you can play with them till you get the look you are after

Not a Flying Purple People Eater

I so love finding "new-to-me" designers, and Adoness is the latest. I am wearing 3 of their items which are in the latest round of The Thrift Shop.  The gown is in a beautifully opulent deep amethyst, - it comes with tintable pasties in case you need them (I didn't) and bracelets, which I am not wearing, but I am wearing the purple from their nail appliers set. 

I am finding myself drawn to asymetrical and part shaved hair styles, and this one is absolutely fabulous.  Possibly such a style does not "go" with the gown, in some eyes, but I like the contrast - and also returning to what was at one time my normal hair colour, copper.

Arachnophobics open if you dare...............

“If I see a spider in my house, I put it in a cup, and then I take it outside. I save it. What is wrong with me?” Jacqueline Emerson” (my answer being "absolutely nothing")

Weird as it may sound, one of the things on my bucketlist is to have a tarantula crawl up my arm - I kid you not.  But then again, I am the weirdo who goes mad if someone squashes a spider, and have been called "spider lady" by people I work with who come to me to - in their words "get rid of a spider", in my words "rescue a spider".  

So as soon as I saw this outfit I couldn't wait to blog it.  Immateria is a new-to-me designer and I am really impressed with this outfit - as well as being covered in gorgeous tarantulas, it is also well made and fits perfectly.  The boots come in both rigged and non-rigged options.  The ring is from TLB at the Horrorfest too, and comes in various scary designs, which I will probably share very soon.  

The outfit will be available at the Horrorfest which opens at 11.59 am tomorrow (the 18th). Not only is there loads of great stuff on offer at this event, they are also raising funds for a very worthy cause,The Epilepsy Therapy Project, and you can track donations live by clicking here, or to learn more about epilepsy, click here.  

My special guest in the final photo is from the GSpot gacha at Horrorfest - there are large spiders in different colours, and also some you can wear on your head - which I did for a while when I was setting this shoot up, until even I decided it was spider overkill.  Take my word for it though, they are cute :).  The bigger spiders, like this one, come with various cute pose animations.
